Palos Verdes Estates is a semi-rural community, with a small-town atmosphere, tree-lined streets, and breathtaking ocean and pastoral views. The City’s master plan was developed by noted landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted, Jr. The City features two small business areas, Malaga Cove Plaza and Lunada Bay Plaza, and 28% of the City is designated as parklands.

In addition to numerous walking and hiking trails, and noteworthy surfing beaches, the City offers several active recreational venues:

Palos Verdes Golf Club offers a premier 18-hole course designed by Billy Bell and George C. Thomas, Jr., and a country club including a full-service restaurant and meeting rooms.

Palos Verdes Tennis Club offers 12 well-maintained courts lit for night play, a juniors program, and social events.

Palos Verdes Beach & Athletic Club offers an outdoor infinity swimming pool, spas, exercise facilities and snack bar.

Palos Verdes Stables offers lessons in both English and Western riding, pony camps and trail rides.

Palos Verdes Estates is the oldest City on the Peninsula, and operates its own police department. Residents benefit from the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District, known for excellence in education, and the Palos Verdes Library District with a local branch in the City.

Welcome to Manhattan Beach – a city of lovely homes on tree-lined streets, year-round sunshine and beautiful beaches; a city of fine schools and places of worship; a surfer’s paradise; and a city filled with friendly people who are proud of our town, our pier, and our heritage.

Take a walk along our strand, walk the length of the pier and explore the local water life in our mini aquarium, meander the streets of our downtown district and enjoy the pleasant, relaxing atmosphere of our unique beach side community. As home to beach volleyball, each August we host the Manhattan Beach Open, the oldest, most prestigious professional volleyball tournament.

Manhattan Beach has it all. A shopper’s delight with an array of shops, boutiques and major department stores found throughout our downtown and north end business districts, the Manhattan Village Mall, and lining the boulevards of Sepulveda and Rosecrans. Dining choices are nearly endless. Whatever you desire to eat, you’ll find it superbly prepared at one of Manhattan Beach’s fine restaurants.

The City boasts a private tennis club and a 9-hole golf course. The community provides a multitude of activities for its residents, including surfing and beach volleyball along with a variety of sports activities in its seven parks. Polliwog Park is the setting for Sunday afternoon concerts during the summer months and is the site of the Manhattan Beach Historical Society, a manmade lake and most recently the addition of the “Braille Trail”.

Manhattan Beach, with its rich past, exciting present and promising future, is primarily a residential community. Making you feel at home is one of the things Manhattan Beach does best. With its small town living atmosphere, it will steal your heart, relax your mind and warm your spirits.

If you’ve tuned into the Travel Channel lately, you may have seen the recent hour-long show that touts Hermosa Beach as being “one of the Top 10 Beaches”. Hermosa Beach was recognized for not only its pristine beach, but because of our outdoor activities, festivals and events, nationally televised sporting events, and as the home of the “largest arts and crafts show in Southern California.”

A sun-drenched beach village of just 1.3 square miles, Hermosa Beach sits at the edge of the Pacific, just 5 miles south of Los Angeles. The town is the very essence of the Southern California lifestyle, and the mild weather patterns make it an ideal vacation spot all-year round. Temperatures range from highs of 77 degrees in the summer to a balmy 67 degrees in winter, with the nighttime temperatures rarely going below 50 degrees. The spectacular coastline, wide sandy beach, rich history and specialty shops make this community a favorite with Californians.

However, Hermosa Beach is much more than sand and surf. This lively beach village offers up live music with choices from rock to blues to jazz. In the summer months, the city features Sunset Concerts on the Beach for the whole family to enjoy. You’ll also find culture in many flavors with three art galleries, live theatre at the Hermosa Playhouse, and the famous Comedy and Magic Club where Jay Leno performs every Sunday night and such famous names as Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Maher drop by regularly for an impromptu appearance.

If you’re a fan of films and television, you’ll be interested in our many scenic locations which have been featured on the screen. You’ve actually seen Hermosa Beach from your easy chair in such TV shows as The O.C, Gilmore Girls, The Bachelor, Summerland, Blind Date, and CSI Miami. And mystery writer Rebecca Forster has set her legal crime dramas on our shore in three novels published by Signet Novels.
The energy and excitement that enlivens Hermosa Beach during the daytime moves into high gear when the sun sets. Hermosa Beach is well known for its happening nightlife, which includes dancing the night away, meeting at a favorite pub, or sampling the delicious fare at one of Hermosa’s many seafood and ethnic restaurants. There are dining options to delight every palate – from a latte on the run to a lingering dinner by moonlight. Whatever your scene, Hermosa has a place for you.

Conveniently located 10 minutes south of the Los Angeles International Airport, travelers can visit the star-studded streets of Hollywood, glamorous Beverly Hills, or the theme-parks of Anaheim and still get back to the beach in time to witness the magnificent sunset. It is easily accessible by car or taxi to all major Los Angeles business and leisure destinations.

Hermosa Beach, the little gem by the sea, is ideal for everyone. Whether you’re a couple, traveling solo, or on a family vacation…Hermosa’s friendly atmosphere will make your getaway easy, fun, and unforgettable.

Located in the choice coastal edge of Los Angeles County, just twenty miles from downtown Los Angeles and seven miles south of Los Angeles International Airport, Redondo Beach has been a preferred resort destination for more than a century and one of the most desirable areas to live in the country.

Significant concentrations of employment and retail activity include the northern industrial complex anchored by the Northrop Grumman Corporation campus; the Harbor/Pier area; the Galleria at South Bay–-a regional mall anchoring the east end of the City; and an eclectic mix of specialty shops, restaurants and services known as the Riviera Village area in the south end of the City.

Redondo Beach is a “charter city” governed by a council-manager form of government. The Mayor is elected at large, and one Council Member is elected from each of the five City districts. The Mayor and Council appoint the City Manager as the chief administrative officer of the City to guide day-to-day operations.
